Product Overview
The Back-lit Panel family comes in three wattage options and three colour temperatures across a single series, so one product line covers the whole office floor plate.
What's the difference between back-lit and edge-lit panels?
A back-lit panel puts the LEDs directly behind the diffuser instead of along the edges with a light guide plate. That means fewer LEDs, no LGP to yellow, delaminate or crack over time, and a fixture that typically holds its output longer at a lower price point. The trade-off is a slightly deeper housing — which the plenum space above a T-bar grid almost always has.
How do you pick between 36W, 40W and 48W?
Ceiling height and what you're replacing. In a standard 8-9 ft office grid, the 36W handles general circulation and open-plan areas; step up to 40W or 48W for higher ceilings or to match the output of the 2x4 fluorescent troffers you're pulling out. All three share the same 3000K / 4000K / 6500K colour selection and 50,000-hour life, so mixing them on one job costs nothing in consistency.
What voltage does it run on?
The wide-range driver accepts AC 85-265V, which covers 120V North American services as well as 220-240V international ones. Note the ceiling, though: it does not cover 277V. If your building runs 277V or 347V distribution, talk to us before specifying — the 6G Linear and 5G Vapor families handle the higher voltages.
Where it fits, and where it doesn't
It's built for interior T-bar ceiling grids — offices, classrooms, healthcare corridors, retail back-of-house and institutional spaces — dropping straight into the grid. It carries no wet-location rating, so for parking structures, food processing and wash-down areas, use the 5G Vapor tight instead.
